I was super excited to be asked to re-create this classic cocktail, originally from Laura Moore at The Epicurean Hotel Edge rooftop bar! This iconic American crafted bourbon is the perfect addition to your holiday dinner table. This selection adds a little southern flare to your annual holiday celebrations. Laura Moore is a 2016 Charity Cocktail Challenge third place winner and has also been featured on ediblenetwork.com and thebeveragejournal.com!
I made a few minor changes, but this cocktail is PERFECT for the holidays and can be pre-batched for a large crowd!
Also — bubbles! And, some of the best bourbon you can get.
The Apple Clause
Garnish with an orange twist or apple slice
The only change I made to this was in the simple syrup. I did regular 1:1 sugar/water and then added apple slices (about a half apple worth), cinnamon, and start anise. It made an AMAZING simple syrup that I have been using in a variety of cocktail and hot teas since!
To pre-batch this cocktail, double/triple/quadruple (etc) the recipe as needed with everything but the bubbles. You can shake up individual cocktails in groups and then top with bubbles before serving. SUPER easy and this is one tasty drink!
